A Director combines and leverages the best of all the performance arts, from movement, to music to visual art. He must combine the intellectual and emotional elements of theatre. Above all, he must be an excellent storyteller. Stories are how we connect as humans and add meaning to our lives. Being a Director affords me the opportunities to tell stories that matter. Funny stories, tragic stories, stories about kids or adult all inspire me.

I started my training as a director in 2002 and since then have directed dozens of projects. During my tenure as Artistic Director of CYPT and since, I have directed twelve professional theatre for young audiences productions. Working with youth remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my career as a theatre artist. I have also worked as a director for Sage Theatre’s Ignite Festival.

In 2008 my direction of Boy Blue for the University of Calgary won best production in Pumphouse Theatre’s annual One Act play festival.  The show went on to represent Calgary in the provincial competition.

Last season I directed Princess Prudence for Evergreen Theatre, which toured all over Western Canada.
